You’ve Seen the Leash—Now Shop It at Fetching Forever
An Interview with Good Boy Collective
We’ve been quietly (and not so quietly) obsessed with Good Boy for a while now, so bringing Dayandra’s lineup into Fetching Forever feels like a full-circle moment for us. If you’ve spent any time walking around Vancouver, chances are you’ve already spotted one of their leashes out in the wild—it’s one of those brands that just lives in the city.
As a team, we’re always looking for pieces that feel as good as they function—something our clients can use every single day, whether they’re heading out for a quick walk or getting properly lost in the trails. Good Boy fits that effortlessly.
And on a personal note, this isn’t just a new brand on our shelves—it’s something we genuinely use and love. We already have a few Any Way Leads in rotation, so it only felt right to share it with our community and bring it into the shop for you all to experience too.
We sat down with Dayandra from Good Boy Collective to talk about design, durability, and what makes a truly great walk.
Sarah (Fetching Forever):
Vancouver is famous for its "rain or shine" dog culture—from the muddy trails of Pacific Spirit to the seawall. How does the Good Boy lineup balance the high-fashion aesthetic of Cambie Village with the technical durability needed for a West Coast lifestyle?
Dayandra (Good Boy Collective):
Vancouver is the ultimate testing ground. One minute you’re on the seawall on your way to get brunch, the next you’re knee deep in mud in the trails.
At Good Boy we design for both worlds at once. We want our gear to feel at home and aesthetically pleasing in a city setting, but it has to perform in real conditions and on real dogs. That means waterproof materials, hardware that holds up, and pieces that can handle daily wear without looking worn out.
The goal has always been simple. Your dog can still be a dog, and your gear still looks good doing it.
Sarah (Fetching Forever):
In 2026, pet parents are hyper-aware of "greenwashing." Can you take us behind the scenes of your sourcing? Why was it non-negotiable for Good Boy to prioritize ethical manufacturing and sustainable materials like Biothane over traditional plastics?
Dayandra (Good Boy Collective):
“Greenwashing” is something we think about a lot, especially because it’s so easy to say the right things without actually backing them up.
For us, sustainability starts with longevity and intentional production.
We use authentic Biothane®, a phthalate-free, non-toxic material designed for durability, safety, and everyday use. It’s easy to clean and truly built to last. If you’re not replacing something every few months, that alone makes a meaningful difference.
We also keep production small and considered and prioritize working with materials and partners we trust. It’s less about claiming to be perfect and more about being honest and thoughtful in how we build our products from the ground up.
Sarah (Fetching Forever):
Good Boy Collective started from a place of "Dog Nerd" passion. How do you feel a well-designed walk kit (leash, collar, harness) actually improves the communication and bond between a person and their dog during those daily Vancouver strolls?
Dayandra (Good Boy Collective):
A well designed walk kit changes everything, and most people don’t realize it until they experience it.
When your leash adjusts easily, your setup feels intuitive, nothing is digging, slipping, or getting in the way, and you can trust the product you’re using - you stop thinking about your gear altogether. You’re just walking your dog.
That creates a more connected and calm experience, which adds enjoyment on both sides of the leash!
Sarah (Fetching Forever):
Looking ahead through 2026, we’re seeing a shift toward "Modern Minimalist" pet gear. What was the inspiration behind the current color palette, and how do you see pet fashion evolving to mirror human "Slow Fashion" movements?
Dayandra (Good Boy Collective):
Our palette is definitely inspired by what we’d actually want to wear ourselves. A mix of those West Coast, more grounded tones, but also some fun, brighter options for people who want to add a bit of personality.
We like having both. Some days you want something really clean and neutral, and other days you want a pop of color that feels a bit more playful.
We’ve never been overly trend driven though. The focus is still on creating colors that feel intentional and wearable long-term. I think pet gear is starting to follow the same direction as fashion, moving toward a more “buy less, buy better” mindset. Pieces that last, that you don’t get tired of, and that feel like an extension of your own style.
Sarah (Fetching Forever):
We are thrilled to feature the "Walk By Good Boy" collection at Fetching Forever. If a local Cambie dog owner is looking to build their first "ethical walk kit," which two pieces from the lineup do you consider the absolute essentials for a Vancouver pup?
Dayandra (Good Boy Collective):
If you’re building your first walk kit with us, start simple but strong.
The Any Way Lead is our go-to. It’s adjustable, so you can wear it hands-free, shorten it in busy areas, or give your dog more freedom when you can. It adapts to how you actually move through the city. Pair that with a Biothane collar, and you have a set that’s durable, easy to clean, and built for Vancouver life. It covers everything you need, without overcomplicating it.
Bringing Good Boy Collective into Fetching Forever feels like a natural alignment of values—thoughtful design, everyday functionality, and a shared love for dogs who live fully in their environment, rain or shine.
Whether it’s a seawall stroll, a muddy trail, or a quick walk between coffee stops, the right gear quietly supports those moments without getting in the way. That’s ultimately what this collection is about—making walks simpler, more comfortable, and a little more intentional, without sacrificing style.
We’re excited to have Good Boy Collective on our shelves and even more excited for our community to experience it firsthand.
